General information
Email-address
Please take care to enter your "correct" email address. This is very important to avoid problems in the registration process. If you accidentally enter the email address incorrectly or enter a fictitious email address, you will not receive the Activation-ID required for registration. You can then not complete the registration process successfully and may have to repeat the process. If you do not receive an email even though you have entered a correct email address, please check your spam inbox or other personal filter settings in your email application.
You may have chosen the option to evaluate your inbox according to personal search patterns and to automatically decline or delete spam messages. In this case providers usually offer the option to create a "list of permitted senders" (whitelist). Emails from these listed senders are always accepted. Please add the email address "authega@lfst.bayern.de" and repeat the registration if you suspect that you are affected by this problem.
Passwort
The password is your personal identification component that belongs to the certificate file generated and without which it is not possible to have access to your authega account. It is chosen by you yourself during the registration process according to predefined criteria. Please ensure that the password is neither lost nor known to others, as it cannot be reset or reassigned. Authentication with authega and access to the business applications can only be granted with a valid certificate file and knowledge of the associated password. Further information can be found here.
Security question
When entering your personal data, you also have to select and answer a security question from the list of possible questions. You can later use the security question to delete your personal access to authega or to revoke Zertifikate of the obtained software key. Only you and the authega system have the knowledge about the security question and answer that are required in order to delete your account.
Saving the registration file
For saving the certificate file on a storage device, you need to use the download feature of the browser. For most browsers, the certificate file is being saved (as .pfx file) in the download default folder of the browser.
If there is a file with the same file name, the file name of the new certificate file is being saved with a continuous number, to avoid overwriting the existing file.
If you have chosen the option for the manual selection of the location in the download settings, a browser dialog opens, where you can select the location by yourself. The option for 'open' should not be selected.
Personal details
To register with „Plattform für sichere Kommunikation in Bayern“ you have to enter your email and postal address for identification purposes.
Please be sure to enter both addresses correctly. This is very important for a smooth registration process. If the email address is accidentally incorrectly entered or a fictitious email address is used, you will not receive the Activation ID required for registration. It is also not possible to receive the Activation-Code by letter if the address you have entered was accidentally incorrect or fictitious. If one of the two pieces of information is missing, you cannot complete the registration successfully and may have to repeat it.
Certificate file
Step 1: Personal Data
Your registration for authega with certificate file is divided into two steps for security reasons. Please perform the steps in sequence. Once all steps were processed successfully, you will have access (Login) to authega and be able to use the personalized services.
In the first step you enter your registration data. These are e.g. data to uniquely identify you at the business procedure as well as your email address Your personal mail address (post) is stored in the public administration associated with the identification data, which so can verify without any doubt via security technology that the data was really entered electronically by you and that they belong to you. To verify your identity with the public administration you will receive individual Activation Data for your future account to authega separately via email and letter (post). If an unauthorized person enters your registration data, he/she would not receive the complete activation data. This prevents unauthorized persons from creating an account in your name.
Registration Data and Security Question: Plausibility check:
Enter your registration data into the provided fields. When the registration is completed successfully, you can login using the Login on the Homepage with Software certificate that your have generate in "Step 2: Activation and Generation of Certificate". After you entered your registration data fully, your input is formally checked for plausibility. You will have to correct all input formats that are incorrect. The check will e.g. verify if your personal number was entered with the correct format. You will only be able to send the input to authega for further processing if it is all plausible.
During the entry of your personal data you will have to select and answer a security question from a given set of question. The security question is used at a later time to lock your account to authega and to revoke the certificate of the keys. Only you and authega know which question and which answer allow the locking of your account.Display Registration Data: Confirmation of reception:
Your email address must be correct as you are sent part of the Activation Data via email. Once you sent your registration data to authega, you will shortly receive an email to the email address you entered, which you have to confirm electronically. Please follow the instruction in the email. You will then immediately receive another email with your personal Activation-ID and, for security reasons, the Activation-Code. in a letter via mail. Then you can proceed with Step 2 ("Step 2: Activation and Generation of Certificate) of the registration process.
Step 2: Activation and first login
You already performed the first step of the registration and received a letter and an email with the Activation Data of your account from administration. In this step you activate your account using this data. The Activation Data consists of an Activation-ID(in the email) and an Activation-Code(in the letter). Your account can only be activated security technically if you have both the information. After the activation you will here receive a software certificate protected by its own personal password which you can use in the future to perform your login.
Activation I - Activation Data:
Please enter your Activation-ID which you received in an email, your 12 digit Activation-Code, which you received in a postal letter and answer/fill in the CAPTCHA to activate your account. In the next step you will be shown that your account is activated automatically. Your registration data has then been matched beyond any doubt and you are now joined to authega. You only have to enter the activation data once to activate your authega account.
- Activation II - Save personal key:
Personal security environment
By entering your personal data, you joined authega and were identified by administration without any doubt. In this step a Software certificate will be generated automatically on your computer and saved by you. If there is already a file with the same name, it will be overwritten. You can change the name and (if you are registering with Java) the path. However, you have to keep the file extension ".pfx". Access to the private key in the file is protected by a Password which you select yourself.Certification
After your identity was checked in the first step of the registration process you will from now on only need an identity card to prove your identity in the future, without any hassle but also without any doubt. This identity card will be generated in this step of the registration process in the form of a Software certificate and then certified in a separate process. During registration for authegaBasic, the Software certificate is stored on your computer's hard drive (as a file or during registration without Java in a special storage location of your browser). The Software certificate contains two key pairs which each consist of a private and a public key. The private key will never be changed once they were generated and remain on the security stick. However, the public keys generated in this step are only temporal and will still have to be authenticated. This authentication is done by the authega Trustcenter which certifies the public keys. This certification is a highly secure process which can take some minutes. After completion of the certification you will have access to authega.

Step 3: Login with a software certificate
You want to use your authega account. To ensure that only you can use the personalized services, you have to authenticate your access to authega and the business procedures with your software certificate which you received during registration for the user package authegaBasic. Select the correct software certificate from your browser memory or enter the correct path and filename of the pfx file with your software certificate for Authentication and enter the associated password. Once you clicked the button "Login" you are automatically logged in.
If you have more than one personal account with authega, take care to select the correct pfx file.
